Colonel Rebecca Dawn Hazelett

Colonel Rebecca D. Hazelett is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. She joined the United States Army Reserves in 1993, as a heavy wheeled vehicle mechanic. In 1996, She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenantin the United States Army Military Police Corps through Indiana University Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).
Colonel Hazelett served in numerous leadership positions beginning with her assignment as a Platoon Leader in the 552nd Military Police Company in Busan, South Korea; Assistant S3 Operations and Security Officer in both 191st Ordnance Battalion and 29thArea Support Group in Kaiserslautern, Germany; Battalion Administrative and Logistics officer (S1/S4) in the 22ndMilitary Police Battalion (CID) at Fort Lewis, Washington,and Commander, 44th Military Police Detachment (CID) also located at Fort Lewis, Washington. During her time as the Commander, Colonel Hazelett deployed her detachment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF I) from April 2003 - April 2004. Following the deployment, she commanded the 571st Military Police Company at Fort Lewis, Washington. In 2006, Colonel Hazelett was assigned to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and served in the Combined Arms Center, Mission Command Center of Excellence, Capability Development Integration Division as the Modular Force Integration Officer.
Upon completion of the Command and General Staff College in 2009, Colonel Hazelett served as the Battalion Executive Officer and Battalion Operations Officer (S3) in the 709th Military Police Battalion located in Grafenwoehr, Germany. In 2013, she deployed to Afghanistan and as the Deputy of the International Police Transition Team in Kabul. Following her deployment, she was assigned as the Brigade Operations Officer (S3) in the 205th Infantry Brigade located on Camp Atterbury in Indiana.
From 2014 - 2016, Colonel Hazelett Commanded the 705th Military Police Battalion (Detention) and the Midwest Joint Regional Correctional Facility at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Following her commandshe joined to the Office of the Chief of Staff, Army, as the Military Police and Worldwide Individual Augmentee Assignment Officer for Colonels.
Colonel Hazelett is the Deputy Director for the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU) in Vicenza, Italy.
Her military schools include Basic Combat Training, Military Police Officer Basic Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Airborne School, Command and General Staff College (Intermediate-Level Education) and Senior Service College at National War College, National Defense University.
Colonel Hazelett holds a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, Kelly School of Business, a Master of Business Administration from Saint Martin’s University, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from National War College, National Defense University.
